Oil Painting by Dylan Weiler https://www.dylanevansweiler.com/
Jeff Repko crash-landed on this planet at an early age. Since then, his work has become a way of assembling meaning through color, form, and structure as he explores identity, place, and belonging. His sculptures reference mechanical and architectural components, yet resist functionality. Instead the appear as expressive configurations of parts caught between assembly and disassembly. The layered geometry and saturated color invite a sense of play while reflecting the complex, multifaceted nature of identity itself.
By merging digital design with traditional craft, Repko constructs forms that embody both control and improvisation. Using CNC fabrication, 3D modeling, and hand assembly, he transforms industrial languages into something personal and human. The resulting works, whether small-scale constructions or large public sculptures, operate like fragments of machines reimagined as symbols of rebuilding and becoming.
Originally discovered at the Area 412 crash site in Pittsburgh, PA, Repko holds a BFA from Pennsylvania State University and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He currently lives in Atlanta, GA, where he serves as Associate Professor of Sculpture at the University of North Georgia. His work has been exhibited in public art installations and exhibitions nationally. He has participated in residencies at The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center, The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Technical College, and The Digital Stone Project in Italy among others.
